Skip's Curated Jobs: June 8, 2024

Thank you for reading the EdSkipper, Skip’s newsletter about skipping from education to education-aligned careers. Every Saturday, I send out a list of curated remote jobs curated from 300+ companies each week. Premium subscribers receive access to all jobs in the Edskipper database and two additional emails a month with advice to help you apply more competitively.

I’m trying to do a thing on LinkedIn: turn Social Saturday from a post and run space into a space for genuine conversation and connection-building.

Every once in awhile I see those kinds of conversations start to happen. More often, though, I just see people copy and paste the same paragraph about their experience on five different posts, all in the hopes that ‘just one recruiter will see it’ and offer them a job.

I’ve written before about the inefficiency of networking strategies that prioritize visibility over meaningful connections [and I’d share a link to the LinkedIn post except … I didn’t save the post URL???], and I’ve also tried a few times to drive conversations on Social Saturday posts with mixed results. I’ve had a few fantastic conversations while at the same time I’ve spent a lot of time deleting posts that saw the “Social Saturday” tag and ignored the prompt.

If you’re looking to learn and share this Saturday, head over to my LinkedIn post and talk about how you’re using AI in your current role.

I’ll be checking in on the post and commenting here and there during the morning — I’m also running a training session for new election workers.

~I hope you find some fantastic jobs to apply to this weekend,
Chelsea
