Thank you for reading the EdSkipper, Skip’s newsletter about skipping from education to education-aligned careers. Every Saturday, I send out a list of curated remote jobs curated from 300+ companies each week. Premium subscribers receive access to all jobs in the Edskipper database and two additional emails a month with advice to help you apply more competitively.
Happy June!
Wondering who’s ordering Saul Khan’s new book Brave New Words: How AI Will Revolutionize Education (and Why That's a Good Thing)?
One of the themes from the conference I attended recently that continues to resonate afterwards is how well positioned educators are to take advantage of AI — we’re experts at training (and most employees feel like they need more training in AI, training they aren’t getting from the roles — some even say they’ll switch jobs to companies that will train them for AI) but we also are champions of personalized or differentiated learning. And AI is the tool that may allow us to finally create meaningful learning experience for entire classrooms of students.
I’m seeing so much energy around AI and education, especially in job descriptions. I suspect this is partially because eductors are overworked and need personal assistants, but educators are also well poised be at the forefront of these conversations around AI.
If you’re already experimenting, document how you’re using AI. If you’re not experimenting, it’s worth exploring because the future of work is going to be AI-infused. And, yes, that means it’s not too soon for an AI-focused resume bullet point.
~I hope you find some fantastic jobs to apply to this weekend,
