Skip's Remote Edtech Jobs: March 23

Thank you for reading the EdSkipper, Skip’s newsletter about skipping from education to education-aligned careers. Every Saturday, I send out a list of curated remote jobs from Skip’s job board. Premium subscribers receive access to additional jobs in the Edskipper database and two additional emails a month with advice to help you apply more competitively.
Now that we’ve switched to the new site, I’m rebuilding the number of free jobs available on the site. It’s challenging to keep up this time of year — a few of my favorite roles from this week closed before I wrote this newsletter.
One was a Training Manager at TRAILS, a company I added this week to the larger Skip database. This is one of these smaller companies that I’m actively searching for — they are a non-profit of around ~100 remote employees offering high quality services to school districts. Specifically, TRAILS offers “training, materials, and implementation support schools need to provide their students with effective, culturally responsible programming” to address mental health needs.
Their current employees have higher ed backgrounds (faculty and admin roles), teaching backgrounds, learning & development or nonprofit experience, and school counseling experience — a similar profile to this audience, in fact. As educators who went through a pandemic, I imagine most of you are looking for meaningful solutions to reach all of our kids and teens and your first-hand knowledge of post-Covid teaching is so important to organizations like TRAILS.
If you want to hear a recruiter say something similar about how your teaching knowledge is valued, check out Holly Owens and Nadia Johnson‘s most recent EdUp Edtech podcast. They talked to Spencer Sharp, a contract recruiter for edtech companies. One of the things he stressed: some edtech companies are looking for current teachers for entry-to-mid level roles and also looking for former teachers who have a few years of business experience for senior-level roles.
You can see this in the listings I share every week — especially the ones that have the tag ‘educational experience’ and ‘edtech/industry experience.’ Those roles are open to people who are coming from either professional space, and I’ve been doing more double-tagging in the past few weeks.
~I hope you find some fantastic jobs to apply to this weekend,
Chelsea
This Week’s Poll
This week’s poll is inspired by a post from Kareem Farah — the Founder and CEO of Modern Classrooms (another company in the Skip database!) and, before that, a high school Math teacher. He thinks the market is over-saturated and that we need more robust recommendation procedures for schools to select resources from.
FULL-TIME JOBS
These are only some of the jobs I’ve shared this week — I post about 10-20% of the remote jobs I see each week for free!
